Feeling worried

Hello,
I'm new to the forum! I literally just had the surgery done 6 days ago 🤗 I've been having a wire variety of emotions, such as will it actually work for me? My current delima is the past 2 days I have been feeling really full and bloated. I'm not sure if this is normal, should I be concerned?

Welcome! At 6 days I was feeling almost back to normal. It was still hard to swallow much at one time but I didn't feel bloated. Did your doctor prescribe an anti-gas med? Mine has me on one for the first month. If you don't feel more "normal" in a day or two, you might want to call your surgeon.

Tanika welcome! It is gas. Mine stuck around for like 2 weeks. Felt bloated as well. Try gas x strips. They worked great! You'll be feeling better soon. First week is the hardest!

Hi Tanika,
I'm 4 weeks out and to be honest I was knocked for six by the op! I've never had any surgery before and I was like 'CRIKEY!!!!'. The first week is totally the hardest and i have to say I have taken to my bed a fair bit in the last few weeks! Surgery is big stuff. You sound like you are doing okay, everything is swollen at the moment. Just get lots of rest and be gorgeous to yourself and if you are worried then call your surgeon. Congrats, things really do get easier from here :-)

Thank you so much Stacey03. This was my first surgery ever also. Like you I was terrified..lol . I see my surgeon tomorrow for my first post op visit. I'll be sure to let everyone here know of my progress. Thank you for your response ��
