    Default Intro

My name is Amber, I'm married with 4 children, I had the gastric sleeve surgery on October 13th. I have been planning the surgery for over 5 years, I wish I had done it sooner. So far things have been going well, I've lost 43lbs including what I lost on the preop diet. It has definitely been an adjustment, this is not the easy way out. I did have about three weeks after I started eating that my weight loss stalled, I didn't know if that was normal or if i was doing something wrong.

    Hi, and welcome.

And yes, that "three week stall" is very normal. You can google that term -- it's a VERY common phase of weight loss.

Totally normal, happens to almost all of us. Have someone hide your scale, as it just messes with your head. (You think, how could I eat practically nothing and not lose weight?) It's just your body adjusting, and makes no sense. Keep doing what you're doing and you'll be fine!

That is so funny!! Thanks for the advice, I actually googled it and you were right, I had not heard anything about it and thought for sure it must've been my fault that I wasn't losing. I feel so much better now!!

Welcome Amber! I was unlucky enough for my 3 week stall to hit at week 2! I seriously freaked out! No worries it is normal and gets better.

I think almost all of us here wish we had done this earlier than we did. You'll do great!

Well I remember 4 years ago practically crying on the phone with my nutritionist about the same thing. She talked me off the ledge. Glad to help!
