    Default Here Fishy Fishy

I am surprised at how much more fish I eat post op. We eat fish minimum once a week but honestly between lunches and dinner I am having it usually 3-5 times a week. I love all sorts of fish. I think my body actually craves healthier foods now. Anyone else have changes in their taste buds post op.

I used to drink tea and coffee but I've gone off it a bit now. I'm loving the herbal teas and thy taste even better since the surgery too!

Yes my taste buds have changed a lot since surgery. I crave healthy food like greens, carrots, Brussel sprouts. Before surgery I craved ice cream, cake, cookies all things unhealthy. I also eat a lot of fish, all kinds. I love all kinds of seafood.

Me too! Love any seafood more than any meat. Helps to be married to an amazing cook.

I had never in my life eaten ahi tuna or scallops before my sleeve. Now they are two of my favorites. Plus ceviche. And every kind of fish.

I have always liked fish but now I crave it all the time. Also, I rarely want anything sweet.

Same here! I absolutely crave healthier food post op, protein and salads. Rarely, if ever, crave sweet treats. Salty, yes, but air popped popcorn seems to satisfy!

I do recommend starting with fish, as it's easier on our tummy than something like shrimp which is more dense. But scallops would probably be good too.

When I come to Australia to visit I have to have some Morton Bay Bug! Never heard of it! If the meat inside is soft you will probably be fine.

I love fish! I love salmon, tilapia, tuna, or any other kind! No breading, just baked or grilled with some butter and seasoning! Yum!

I started with canned tuna since it is soft. I never really had any issues with any foods. You will just have to see how they affect you. One thing at a time.

I love air popped popcorn. It is my go to snack if I just want to munch. Does not take much to fill me up and calories are low.

Making a fish curry as we speak! It's from a low carb cookbook and is made with garlic, ginger, tomatoes, haddock (I couldn't find any so am using cod and tilapia) and coconut milk. I'm a bit worried about the fat content in the coconut milk but I'm thinking that it's a healthy fat at least.
If I had to choose one protein to eat for the rest of my life it'd probably be fish. I'm looking forward to Christmas because I'm going to treat myself to some smoked salmon
