Congrats!
You rock!
Take care of your knee.
I might be limping today but it was worth powering through that last 2 miles to be able to complete it. I am sure I will be fine. And I already read up on what I need to do to get my knee back into shape. Lots of special stretches and some strength training. I will be running again in no time!!
Wow. You're so inspiring.
Just seeing this post! Congrats on your finish. 2:38 is a respectable finish for sure! Where did you run? How did the Hoka One One's hold up? I just got a second pair.
Rest your knees and then slowly get back into it with slow mileage increases. I'm still running daily and have been fortunate that I haven't had any injuries (yet)!
Congrats on your half! The feeling of accomplishment is amazing!
Thanks Glenn. I ran the San Antonio Rock and Roll. I already signed up to run it again next year. Also, we are going to do a Tough Mudder in May. I did one back in 2013 and loved it. I have been working on some strength training to work on my knee. I just started to do some light running again for my knee. I think it may possibly have been a stress fracture as when the weather got nasty and cold I could feel it in my knee even though my knee has been feeling fine. I am on a new strength routine and I really think that is going to help me as well. I absolutely love my Hoka's. They are so very comfy. They look like they would be heavy but they are super lightweight! I was not upset with my time since I had to walk the last 2.1 miles with a limp looking like Igor from Frankenstein. LOL.
I heard the Rock and Roll marathon series are a lot of fun! I am thinking about doing one of the Disney runs in the future (kids would love another trip to Disney).
Not that either of us run that slowly, but I saw this shirt the other day and it made me laugh!
