Today December 2nd 2017 is two months since my sleeve surgery.
Some results. I lost 25 lbs in the first month, 15 lbs in the second month. Down 40 since surgery and adding the 19 I lost during the fun pre-op diet I am down 59 since September19th. I am pretty happy about this. I am only 40 from my goal. I hope to reach my goal by April 1st, 2018. I just renewed my drivers license and it was fun to put a new lower weight down on my record.
I am a male age 65 and 6 foot tall. My Cholesterol was tested 3 days ago and I am at 124 Cholesterol and 93 Triglycerides. My HDl and LDl ratios are also excellent. My doctor is taking me off my statin medication. My cholesterol was never really that high 180-215 but being off any medication is good. My blood pressure is down to around 126/75. My doctor wants me on my blood pressure meds for another 2 months and then he will decide if I should be off the meds. I walk every day 2-3 miles and my resting heart rate is around 64 and dropping.
Inches. Since September 19th my chest is down 2.5", my waist is down 6" , hips are down 7 " ( mostly my fat ass) and my thighs are down 2.5". I need new clothes. Guess what's on my Christmas list?
In two days I start my 3 times per week sessions with a personal trainer. This guy is good, he has all kinds of certifications and was a college golfer. We will start slow and do a total body plan. Since back surgery 4 years ago my legs are weak and that will be a priority. He tested my body fat % at 33% with some gizmo that send electrical currents through my body. My power lifting days are long gone and he want tone and flexibility. Perfect for golf.
I feel great and am slowly learning the signs of when I am full. I am adding more vegetables and fruit. Still trying to increase my fluid intake. Sleeping well. I had my first serious meeting with Mr.15 year old Glenlivet yesterday and boy their not kidding when they said your tolerance is lower. No problem but a learning event.
Again a major thanks to all future, recent and past sleeve partners for your encouragement and solid advice. This surgery really works. I am ready for the challenge to reach my goal and stay there. I will probably post pictures at 6 months.
