    Thumbs up Wow!,,,

Can’t believe I’m down 140lbs!!! Lost in only one year. Amazing!! I started making change before my surgery. lost 22lbs before Sleeve on 1-24-17. HW 288, SW 266, CW 148 I love my tool. Sometimes I have to pinch myself to see if this really is my life. Best Decision I ever made for myself. For all those considering this or getting ready to have surgery I’m happy to anwser any questions. Will take updated pics as soon has I feel better

Thank you my friend, I love your message. Well put. Forgot to mention I exercised most days and followed a clean diet. Only worked in a small treat when i did strenuous workouts. I love that you’ve taken a similar approach to loosing weight and improve your health. You are so positive and encouraging, I appreciate it Christie.

Good morning, I’m happy to try and share what I’ve been doing. I’m a terrible writer but will do my best. For the first 6 weeks I walked, 2nd week I joined my Rec Center that had a indoor walking track. I bought a fitbit watch to track my mileage and steps, ect. By the end of the second wk I was walking 5-7 miles a day. Weightloss has become a full time job. I’m blessed to not have to wk right now. My hubby is able to provide enough. I did start adding the elytical ( used the stationary arms one until wk 6) and bicycle wk 4. Wk 6 I starting using the weight machines. Wk 8 I joined some hiking groups and started hiking 4-5 days a week. They started out first month avg 6miles. Now they are 8-20miles with 2-3,000 ft elevation gain. I also rock climb, rock scrabble, on hikes. Amazing what you can do and find what you love when you start out slow and build up gradually. However you don’t have to do the rock stuff to loose like i have. When i don’t hike I started doing squats and lunges, great for butt and legs. I also enjoy water aerobics and I’m going to start kickboxing soon. Best thing you can do I think is find a way to be active throughout the day everyday except on a rare day you don’t feel well. I have those days or we are traveling someway. Find activties you can enjoy and get passionate about so it doesn’t feel like a job!!! Need to sweat and get your heart rate up at least 3-4 days a week I think. It doesn’t take a ton of time either. forgot to mention i got a road bike so on days i don’t hike i may go on a ride also Around week 7 when out walking I started training to jog/run. Turn whatever it is into a lifestyle. Pay attention to triggers, Occasionally I’ll have a sm treat or something with higher carbs but I have it during of after strenuous exercise. Example i love fries. I’ll have a hamburger patti with cheese and veggies and a couple fries because after eating some hamburger meat i don’t have room for more. I found small popsicles great to have after a meal to help moisten your mouth when you have something with spice. I also have a least 1 protein drink a day sometimes 2 if I’ve burned a ton of calories.Your off to a good start with 10lbs lost already. I’m always happy to answer questions or help in some way if i can. Your going to achieve your goal and to great. I did what your doing ask questions and learned what helped those ahead of me and were successful. I found it so motivating and inspiring. Also with fitbit you can add friends or people you met that have one then you can have fun completions. All the best to you on your journey.

Tamera2, that's amazing! Thanks for the details. I'm less than 2 weeks post op and have been walking 3mi/day but I really lack energy. (I actually had lots of energy before and walked quite a bit, so this is a noticeable difference.) I'm hitting my fluid & protein goals but still am only taking in around 600 cals/day so I wonder if I'm just lacking enough calories at this point. Sleeping well and all else feels fine. I just notice that when I'm walking I get about 3/4 through and feel like it's an effort to keep putting one foot in front of the other. Haven't experienced this before. Of course I did go from surgery to a house full of company for Thanksgiving (the last one just left) so it's possible my body is still asking for some recovery time.

I’m so sorry just saw your reply. I’ve been really sick and must have over looked. Your very Welcome, happy to help. Hope your starting to have more energy. It’s very common to lack energy first 6-8 weeks. Eventually you should have more energy than you know what to do with. It takes time for your body to recover from major surgery plus the major changes in diet. Take Care and hope you have a wonderful holiday season.
