Default Hello from under the water.

Bad joke, I know, my house isn't even below the see level as far as I know... but well, that is I.

Anyhow, hello from a Brazilian guy living in the Netherlands, to the question most people ask, why or why did I leave Brazil for the Netherlands, I'd say the weather lol. Like seriously, living on 40C day in and day out without the right infrastructure is really bad. I like the mild cold, before that I lived in Spain, and I took a 2 year Dutch break to live in Munich.

I'm sleeved already, just a few days ago, but my battle against weight has been going on for ever, never been a slim guy, but 10 years ago I was quite sportive, to the point I was giving a few Spinning lessons a week (avatar pic is from my formation curse), I began loosing track in 2009, and after that it went downhill I went from 110KG to 180KG.

I picked up part of my sport life the last year, but nothing close to what I was, although my Polar coach says I'm doing well. mostly cardio though, I need to put more effort in lifting.

I'm not a guy that likes to walk every time (depends on my mood), but love bicycling.

My job is Software tester, so not much activity there.

What triggered me to take the necessary measures was my last holiday, when you feel too big for flying on a A380, it's time to do something about it indeed.

in over 3 weeks I'm flying to Dubai for 2 weeks, and hope to feel much better to explore the city, and mostly to not feel so trapped in the seat.

Thanks for telling us about yourself, I hope you enjoy Dubai and don't spend all of your money LOL, so much shopping! I like to visit colder countries as it gets sooooo hot here in australia in the summer, the humidity can be insane!!!! :-)

Welcome Renachan! I lived in the Netherlands from 2011-2014. (I lived in Landgraaf.) I loved it there but I do not miss that weather. LOL. I now live in hot, sunny Southern Texas and I love the weather here. Congrats on your new sleeve. I hope your recovery is going well.

    Ola!
Our domicile is strictly speaking in the Netherlands, but we live fulltime in our motorhome and travel through Europe and Morocco.
    Currently we are in Spain.
English is not my first language anymore, so I may and do make mistakes in my spelling, or say things oddly. Please ask me, if you want any clarifications.

Stacey03, Summer in the Netherlands can be quite annoying for a few weeks, everything is designed for cold, but year after year we get more and more humid and hot days... While on Vacation I don't mind, but if you have to work, commute and live in a place that's designed to trap heat, well things get bad.

Luv49ers19, Yeah I know, it's not just my comfort, but also if there's someone next to me... I got lucky this summer,in all but one flight I had 2 or 3 chairs at my disposal, the last flight, because I was sitting at the corridor I could open the arm rest on the corridor side to not get trapped between the two.

Christie13, lol, my single complain is the winter time and the lack of light, but the summer time and light until late in the night and from early in the morning compensates it, I expended 2 summers in Munich, and I really missed that, I guess I could't live near the tropics again. The rain and "cold" is not a problem for me, I even sleep with an open window in winter. If I was to live in a warm place, I'd go back to Valencia where I lived a long time ago, but taking vacations to Norway or Finland from time to time lol.

Jeanious, Good luck with the surgery! Glad I found the site too, most other forums are focused on bypass.

DutchSleeve, One of the best things about Europe is how easy and cheap you can travel around, so if I could I would't be stationary either, but I like the Netherlands so not much to complain ^^.

ghost_ryder, Sure! I was there for a few hours in June and OMG, December is less crazy, but I won't forget my water bottle, also on the airplane, lucky they have water taps in most planes now, because it kills me to ask for water and they give like a 200ml glass half filled.
