Waiting

I am still waiting to hear from my surgeon since my appointment on November 10th; boy am I anxious!

The insurance company was contacted before I even made the appointment and they confirmed they covered it, so this really must just be a waiting game!!!!

Most likely, the surgeon said most are either 3 or 6 month supervised weight loss programs but I am not sure which one. I will have tests done (obviously) and I know I have to meet with a psychologist. But it seems to be simple with my insurance company per the internet

I HEARD BACK! Got a call from the surgeons office, INSURANCE COVERS 100%!!!!!

Have my first appointment on December 15th with a Dietitian

They marked the dictation for his note priority so it will get completed and sent out ASAP. Still hoping for a date before the end of the year when insurance changes. I may be the same month as you - or I may be trailing by a bit. Let us know how you are doing!

Oh no, you're way ahead of me friend! I only had my first appointment November 10th as the initial consultation and the Dietitian appointment on the 15th is my first after the consultation If the process is 6-8 months, we're looking at my surgery being at sometime in the summer!

Congrats on the final appointment, I wish you the best and you also let me know how you are doing! Insurance is tricky and I hate it!

Oh OH OH I read it wrong - I was thinking you had your surgery date! MY apologies. The classes helped me a ton, even though I am a dietitian and have been for 20 years, because I never practiced in that area, and of course I obviously didn't follow what I knew I should be doing in the first place. I think you will find them very helpful. My dietitian with the program I am in is wonderful - and I have also known her for many years - used to work with her at Mayo Clinic. It just feels to good to be taking steps in the right direction - I need to exercise more, but I have started using smaller plates, not drinking with meals (REALLY hard for me), and I have already bought and started taking the vitamins.

No worries! Not drinking during means is going to be the hardest part for me I think. Everytime I take a bite, I normally take a sip of water. ugh! I'm trying to get prepared but that's even harder as I don't even really know what to expect!
