    Default Skinny Person Observation

So I have observed two things about being skinny.
Number One. This is my first winter as a skinny person and damn do I get COLD so much easier. I am cold when no one else is. I did notice how much less I sweat during the summer but actually feeling chilled to the bone can be rough. Layers are your best friend.
Number Two. Being sick while skinny makes number one a million times worse. I have had the chills like crazy now that I am sick. It is nutso!!!

And with that being said....I would not change it for the world. Love being a skinny person!

Craziest thing about this whole process. Even as a skinny kid I don't remember ever being this cold before. And I have always sweated unlike anyone I have known.

Oh, and ironically when I work out I can still sweat like I used to when I was fat. I just don't sweat from summer heat.

I got both in one sitting. I had to mop the floor after spin class the other day on two bikes after wanting to kill the girl who turned on the fans during class-I was freezing and sweating profusely at the same time. After I snapped the pedal off on the first bike I switched to another. Good thing that did not happen to me pre-surgery, I would have sworn it was because of how big I was.

Oh poor Christie, that won't help with being sick. I hope you are wandering about swathed in a gorgeous blanket sipping lemsip! (or whiskey!)
I'm quite pleased about this phenomenon though. It gets super hot where I live in Australia in the summer snd the humidity can be ridiculous. I'm too green to use air con so we have alot of ceiling fans and I guess we are just a bit hardcore with it. If I was any further north though I might die! So I for one am looking forward to being a bit colder.
And Greg... good effort on breaking that spin bike wheel off, you must have been going for it! I hope there was disco music :-)

This is my fourth autumn post-op, and this thread makes me think I’m not as cold this year as I’ve been the last three autumns. Maybe I’m dressing warmer?

I do believe, however, that I’m just getting used to it. Will let you know when it gets really cold.

P.S. I do notice this year that I no longer care how bulky my winter jackets and coats are ... because I no longer think like the fat person I once was!

Yep I'm so much colder this year already. I live in Minnesota so this winter is going to be a real change from last winter..115 pound difference!
I still think of myself as the fat person sometimes. Like the other day it was 20° but I didn't wear my jacket because it was so bulky and I didn't want to look that big. Yeah stupid I know but not only does the body change I have to have my mind to change too or I will freeze to death! The next day I did suck it up and wear my jacket that is 2 sizes to big because it is the only one I have.

I am so looking forward to this! I am always SO HOT. I get embarrassed sometimes about how much I sweat. That's been the hardest part for me living in Hawaii. I hope this will happen to me too after my surgery. Thanks!!

That just made me chuckle! The losing the pedal part. Good thing there is no worries of that now!

You should see me at the football games. It got cold one night and I was freezing. (This is Southern Texas...I think it was like high 50's so that for us is super cold. But I had soooo many layers.) Last night's game was not that cold and I still had to have a jacket on. Even with all the jumping up and down. LOL. Buy that jacket. You're gonna need it.

This past summer was my first summer as a thin person and I did not sweat much. When it was really hot I would sweat if I crossed my legs. And occasionally I sweat at other times but not often. I mostly felt "comfortable" except in the AC I needed a hoodie. I now always keep an extra hoodie in my car JUST IN CASE. I can no longer stand being cold.

When I was fat I usually wore a hoodie with a zipper so I could take it off when I got hot. I got hot even in winter. Now I am actually buying sweaters and sweatshirts that are pullovers. That was a big no no before since I was always taking them off. As for bulky coats, bring it....I know I am no longer fat. LOL.

I used to have the big wet spots under my arms no matter how much deo I wore. I got hot so freaking easy. I would just start sweating like crazy. And don't get me started on boob sweat. LOL. So by summer...you are going to see a huge difference. I know that I do.
