    Default Advice needed please

Hi, my name is Leaf and I'm new to the forum. I had my op in August 2011 and lost a total of 11 stone and 6lbs over approx. 18 months. I sustained this until I started chemotherapy for breast cancer in October 2013, when my weight started to increase due to my treatment. I have continued to gain as I have now stretched the sleeve. Does anyone know if it is postable to have a second opinion to reduce/tighten the stomach area again?

    TIA
    Leaf🍂🍁🍂

I'm so sorry you had to deal with breast cancer Leaf. That's a hard journey. I have no idea about the second surgery but can you get in touch with the place you had your last surgery? I'm sure that would be the best bet as they are the experts. Best wishes

So sorry about the breast cancer. Sending prayers. Maybe it's time to think about your healing and not adding that extra worry about your weight. Just concentrate on eating healthy foods.

My surgeon claims the stomach can't be stretched, just going back to how you should be eating and you'll feel the restriction again. But I have heard about people having the surgery again, though I always wonder if it didn't work the first time, why would it work the second time?

BC is a tough journey, and certainly a life changer; I agree with sraebaer that you need time to heal from the physical of BC, and the emotional as well. Go back to your early mindful, healthy eating. If you can, try some meditation or prayer, some exercise. You're body is feeling assaulted and needs some gentleness. Prayers for full recovery to good health.

Sorry about the breast cancer and hope all is well with that now. I wouldn't worry about having your stomach made smaller, I'd just go back to basics and see what that does. There are plenty of different tips for "getting back on track." Please don't put that added stress on yourself and just get back to the plan when you feel ready. Be kind to yourself, you've been through lots. Positive thoughts coming your way.

I am sorry to hear about the breast cancer. My heart goes out to you. I hope you are in remission as you did not mention it or how long you have been in remission. As for a second sleeve, I agree that first steps should be attempting to start back at the basics with the liquid, then soft, then solid phases. Goals being set for protein and water. That being said, I have seen people get "re-sleeved". You would lose slower the second time around. I honestly think, though, that your best option is to try to go back down by starting basics again. Your body has been through so much. And ultimately, I would speak with your surgeon and also your oncologist. I wish you much success and send you big virtual hugs.

What a great job, losing all that weight.
Sorry for your cancer scare. I too feel if you follow the diet routine again, your sleeve will start retracting again.
