Lol, Im not sure Phil, but I've heard that they use smaller ones in Australia than America. I don't know if this is true, i have no evidence but it's interesting. I think generally in the world they decide on the patients weight and height and stuff. How are you going? Hope all is peachy :-)
A 40F bougie was used to create my sleeve.
By the way, some people love to blame their surgeon's use of a larger bougie size for their failure to lose sufficient weight and/or attain their goal weights.
For example, an infrequent member griped that her surgeon didn't "give her a chance" since he used a 38F bougie to shape her sleeve, but countless others (including myself) reached their goal weights with sleeves shaped using 38F and 40F bougie sizes.
The bougie size doesn't matter nearly as much as one's lifestyle and habits.
