Hey Ashley! Try to relax. This surgery is safe and has very low complication rates. And when it is done, you will be on your journey to a better, healthier you!! Best decision I could have ever made. You got this. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

I hope your surgery goes well with speedy recovery. This is a great site. I need a support group of people that don't know me. My family is great but they are all concerned and really hard to talk to.

Hi Ashley, You're not going to starve!!! LOL. I mean you will probably feel a bit hungry, you will feel a bit different. I'm on day 6 of my pre-op diet. I have to do it for 2 weeks. Day 4 was the hardest with a big headache and dizziness but I fixed that with plenty of water. I must say, the water has made a massive difference so do consider that.
Also from what Christie told me the pre-op diet is worse than the post-op, because you don't feel hungry with the post -op.
Regardless, it's all changes isn't it. You've got this wonderful opportunity. I see it like that. You've got to go in positive I reckon, and yes, you might have some ups and downs but the future is in our hands.
Wishing you the very best of luck Ashley, drink the water!!!!! And stay in touch :-)

My family & friends did the same, and even when I had an issue (second surgery same day w blood transfusion), I felt at peace and all turned out well.

@Ashley, you will do well. It's not a bad surgery, and while I had gas pains in my shoulder I only needed 2 tylenol for the whole process. And Pre-op was a good challenge for me to begin making better choices. 3rd day was my headache day, but lots of water and it went away.

Post op, haven't felt hungry. but have needed naps. But I'm old, too! (65)
