I absolutely adore sweet potatoes baked in oven drizzled with some olive oil and sea salt but the sweet potatoes for Thanksgiving have always disgusted me with their extra sweetness.

I’m 2 weeks out and will be about 6 weeks at T-day. I’m the only one who cooks, so I’m going to have to make a full T-day feast for everyone else.
I plan on trying a tiny bit of turkey breast, and a tablespoon of mashed potato, mashed sweet potato and soft green bean casserole. We’ll see how that goes! Maybe a couple hours after dinner I might have a teaspoon or two of the pumpkins filling in the pie.

Maybe a stupid question (sorry...), when is Thanksgiving?
Is that a fixed date (like Christmas), or is it a different date each year, like Easter?
English is not my first language anymore, so I may and do make mistakes in my spelling, or say things oddly. Please ask me, if you want any clarifications.

Thanksgiving is always the fourth Thursday of November. So the date does fluctuate. This year it's on November 23.

Maybe I'll intruduce that in my household.

Hi Gege. Since you will be out of surgery a little over a week me thinks liquids will be your Thanksgiving. Maybe of course some sugar free pudding, sugar free jello etc. You know soft things with protein shakes. I remember my first two weeks post op. Had complications after surgery and really had a hard time wanting to eat anything. Just looking at a bottle of Isopure makes me want to throw up(still after all this time) because I drank so much. We are all different so maybe you can tolerate a little mashed potato or soft green beans. Turkey might be rough. Turkey broth with ground up turkey is yummy.
Whoops forgot something. I can eat anything now. Do still have a serious restriction. This Thanksgiving will only be eating Turkey and cheese omelet. Need to get back to 160Lbs.
IT'S BEEN ALMOST TEN YEARS NOW SINCE MY SURGERY. AND IM STILL GOING STRONG!!!!!!
