    Red face Best/Worst Puree Ideas....seriously

Been looking at lots of recipes, and while many are appealing, how do you make a reasonable amount? I've never been a great fan of eating the same thing for days at a time. All the recipes are certainly freezable, but the by the time I am ready for them, I may be out of the puree stage.

I prefer warm things to cold, as it seems more stomach friendly. I've made split pea soup, tomato soup (all with almond milk and unflavored whey protein). I'm a bit afraid of anything with mayo (I like Hellman's (South), but will try low fat).

    Any secrets? Thanks!

Worst is any baby food. I made that mistake - YUCK!

I was only on that puree stage for a week, and just ate real soft foods. Never put a meal in the blender or anything. Low-fat Greek yogurt, fat free re-fried beans, tomato soup, soft boiled eggs, etc. Most of my protein still came from the shakes.

    Good luck!

I never had to have pureed foods. The whole idea of it repulses me. I had liquids for 2 weeks and then soft foods for 2-3 weeks. Soft foods I had chicken lentil soup (from the skinny taste website), scrambled eggs, and attempted fish frequently.

    I loved this stage.
    My go-to foods were:

    * Hardboiled egg, small can of tuna in brine, drained, reserve the liquid, little bit of mayo, little bit of ketchup and some pickled cucumber.
Blitz together, diluting with the liquid of the tuna, if necessary.

    * You can do the same with canned salmon, using pickled onions instead of pickled cucumber.

    * Enchilada filling with salsa sauce, blitzt in the blender.

    * Shelleys ricotta bake.
You can find the recipe here: http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.bl...eed-foods.html
English is not my first language anymore, so I may and do make mistakes in my spelling, or say things oddly. Please ask me, if you want any clarifications.

Chicken/tuna/egg salad, cottage cheese, ground beef with any seasoning, any beans mushed up (add some cheese or spices for flavor), yogurt, eggs, creamed soups with nonfat milk, nonfat lattes (nonfat milk, espresso, & Splenda). I used the Fa!rlife milk since it is higher in protein, lower in sugar, and lactose free. The good thing is that this phase isn't long. I did not prep any foods or make much. I used easy foods.

What I'm finding easier is not mixing food groups into 1 blended concoction. Since most things make me nauseous or uncomfortable I'm trying to introduce one thing at a time. Like I'd have a bit of humus (which I'm finding quite pleasant) and maybe an hr later have some mashed up pumpkin. Also not pureeing much more like mashing up things with a folk. Puree's so unappetising to me. I do blend smoothies in the morning tho. 2xstrawbs, few blue berries, water and some protein powder.

Thank you all. I find my homemade split pea soup is good, with some added almond milk. I like tomato soup (from the can) the same way. Bone broth is a tasty way to add protein. I did not like potato soup (onion-y). I do like squashed up FF turkey chili with some non fat cheese, cottage cheese with unsweeetened applesauce, stevia and cinnamon. Smoothie at least once a day, but ew -- whey. It just smells weird to me!

Hi AnnieG! Here are some really great soft foods that have been delicious and easy on my sleeve when I was in that phase:

Pacific (brand) Soups - all of them are super yummy. They are also organic and low calorie.
    Hummus (great snack)
Cottage Cheese (super easy on my sleeve and great protein)
Tuna w/ Kraft Avocado Mayo (specifically this brand 2 tbsp = 90 calories and the taste is amazing / I hate lowfat regular mayo, makes me gag, this was great!)
1/2 Cauliflower 1/2 Potato mash (with a sprinkle of low fat cheese blended in)
Chili (the meat was too harsh on my sleeve at first so I opted for meatless chili still tasted great)

You can blend a bit of whey protein in with any of these items, though I am sure some will taste better than others.
