Default 4 weeks out! Started softs. I could use some advice on how to get food and water in.

I am trying to get 2 protein shakes in, plus 3 very tiny meals, plus my water. I am so full after a meal that I don't feel like I can eat or drink for two hours after. Any advice? I would appreciate it.

    Hi,
I am in the same boat! Had my surgery 9/28 and I am having a very hard time getting soft foods down. I try to eat small bites very slowly. It almost hurts going down. Yogurt, sugar free jello/pudding, soup, cottage cheese, and string cheese have been my go-to. How are your energy levels? I feel exhausted most of the time. Although it could be that I went back to work after ten days. Hang in there I hear it will get better.

Remember that your protein shakes count towards your fluid goals. It is very hard in the beginning but it will get easier. In the beginning it would take me forever to eat a Oikos Triple Zero Yogurt. Just do your best at hitting your protein and fluid goals. Remember that all fluids count not just water. I would even count my popsicles. That helped a lot. Also, warm/room temperature fluids were easier for me in the beginning than cold ones. Hang in there!

I keep working through the tiredness and pushing myself. It's getting better. I think it's just weakness from the surgery. I can do it when I push myself.

I’m right there with you. I’m on full liquid/ soft foods. I say that because I can’t stomach soft foods yet. It’s so hard for me to take in 64 oz of water let a lone 2 protein shakes. I need more ideas for liquid meals.
