    Default One year surgiversary!!

One year ago, I had a procedure that helped change my life. I would encourage anyone who is considering this procedure to do their homework, and see if this is the right choice for them. I am so very pleased with my progress this year. This website has been so helpful whenever I had questions or needed support, so I thank everyone who has helped me with my journey. I have a few pounds left to reach my goal weight, but my doc has said that if I add strength training to my cardio, it should be within reach. My primary doc told me that most of her sleeve patients don't lose as much as me. We both agreed that the surgery is just one part of the puzzle and that diet and exercise are essential to success. I knew when I had this done, it would be life changing, but I was very nervous. I have to say that this has been the best thing that I've given myself.

Thanks for sharing how much its been worth to you. I'm not quite 2 weeks out, and seeing your progress (congratulations on 8 lbs to goal), and that you are able to exercise and feel good is so encouraging.

I'm still quite tired, but did have two surgeries the same day and I'm also 65, not 35, lol <3

Any tips on the best vitamins? Doing chewables (like a sweet tart) and not a fan.

Happy surgiversary!! Mine is coming up on the 3rd of November. And you are right. Life changing. I was so worried I would not be successful. But I put in the work and followed the rules. It is the best thing I could have ever done. I only regret waiting so long to take the plunge. Awesome job on your WLS journey!

Congratulations, southernmom! What a great testimonial you offer everyone who's on this path or considering it. You sound like you've done just great and are still doing great. What a wonderful attitude.

I second your emotion about a new lifestyle being key to our long-term success. We're no longer on diets, looking for "quick fixes," but are living very differently and much more healthily than we once did.

I take a One a Day Multivitamin, 5000 mcg of B12 sublingual, and a Biotin complex with Keratin, Zinc and Vitamin C. I've been having bouts of tiredness lately, so I'm having blood work run. At my annual check-up, my primary doctor said that she'd check the usual stuff, but added thyroid, Vitamin D, and B12. She seems to think that my body is still adjusting to the weight loss. She says that even though it's been a year, it is still a lot to lose almost 100 pounds. At two weeks out, you are going to be tired. I think it's mostly because you simply aren't eating and your calories are severely restricted. It took me a couple of months before I felt normal. The tiredness I'm experiencing has started since my kids went back to school and I seem to be running around like a crazy woman. She's just checking everything t make sure that everything is okay. (I was due for annual blood work anyway.)
