Wow! Listen to all these jocks amongst us. Y'all are ALL awesome. Lori, congrats to you. Go out and try new things. Of course, as always, the #1 rule of exercise for non-18-year-olds is DON'T HURT YOURSELF! That's really probably a big rule for those of us who are older than you.

I've done a lot of exercise as a heavy person and really screwed up my knees. So now I'm a huge fan of unrepetitive exercise -- not doing the same exercise day in, week out. Yoga, aquarobics, and walking are my loves now. But believe me, if I could still run I would be out there loving the endorphins. Wow, the endorphins!

And walk and walk and walk. We have family/friends there and my husband has been so many times. So weight loss, better health, and OOH, did I mention I'm afraid to fly?

Your meeting goals is inspiring! Yes we can!
I started my training (on my own) early this morning. I jogged a lot more than walked and went almost 1 .5 miles. I felt SO good and proud that I am doing it! Age is just a number in my eyes! I am terrified of flying too! Only flew once, 40 years ago on our honeymoon ans was a wreck going from CA to Hawaii!!

This morning bright and early I took off jogging outside our small gated community. That was a BIGGY for me as I find my little park adjacent to our lot my comfort zone. I jogged and walked a little 1.5 miles (my first day doing more than a few laps) and I did good. My fear of coyotes that are nearby had me looking everywhere... that and dogs on the loose, but didn't see any.
Between walking, Zumba and jogging daily, I'm loving my new lifestyle!

I can see where running can be addictive. I just ordered some Halt dog spray because I'm freaked outover loose dogs and coyotes that are out and about (we've encroached into their territory). I never have walked outside our gated community (maybe once when we moved in here)and today I left thru the gates and just took off! A group of us from zumba are doing the Happy Hour Marathon in january (Oh Lord, will THAT be fun!)

Wow, that is so impressive!! What an awesome story you have to tell. Hope you have a successful and fun run. Isn't it amazing that we are doing more now(I'm almost 62) than when we were younger. I go to the gym as often as I can and enjoy Zumba, spin, love Yoga, and now have started belly robics!! I do weight training, and if I can't get to the gym, I lift at home. Whoever would have thought at this age I would be so active. Your story is an inspiration to us all, even us veterans. Thanks for sharing.
