Welcome Ali! Be prepared for your new adventure. The sleeve is amazing and life changing. I am 44 and feeling healthier than I have in over 20 years. I am back to the size I was in high school. (Although not as firm and perky. LOL!) The more active you are on here the easier the journey is. Support is crucial. Good luck and congrats on having a date.

Ali, you will love the fact that you will be able to play with your grandkids in ways you can not dream of right now. I have so much chasing my twin grandsons around the house, crawling after them, building towers so they can knock them over, holding them close so they watch the fan for long periods of time, etc.

Thanks so much, I think the thing I am most nervous about is the recovery, I don't handle pain very well, lol! But I'm at a place where I don't care, almost anything is worth getting this weight off!

Thank you everyone, surgery is tomorrow (7th) and I can't wait! I think the hardest part of this for me is the reminiscing of foods I wish I could have and knowing that I can't. Is that horrible to admit? It isn't even sweets. I think it's this 2 week pre-op diet making me mournful. lol

    Hey Ali,

I must say there were a few things that helped calm my nerves before surgery. Firstly- this website helped A Lot! I feel as if I have been a part of many people’s journey's and opening up about it really helps! Another major thing that helped me was watching people’s before and after stories on YouTube sharing there experiences. Finally the last thing that really helped calm my nerves was watching the actual surgery from start to finish online. Sounds crazy right!!?? But it was extremely calming and surprisingly cool! If you have any questions or need any advice feel free to message me at any time! Wishing you the best of luck with your surgery and am congratulating you for the start of your amazing journey.

    All the best,
    Michael
