I understand from reading many posts that doing the sleeve after the lap band you wont loose so much so fast but its better then where you are now and will be good for you. I wish you the best in your process are you on the liquids today or in few days.

Brass, there's a theory out there that long-time banders who've had a lot of trouble with their lapbands have learned to "eat around their band" by eating highly processed carbs and packing food into their esophagus that eventually goes down through the band into the stomach. Of course, I don't know that you were doing that.

But my point is that you'll do better with the sleeve if you eat three meals a day and do everything you can to avoid "grazing" (nibbling throughout the day). If you need to eat more frequently than that, do so via a couple of snacks that are very nutritious (not empty carbs).

If you want to see how I have navigated my own sleeve journey, check out my three past surgiversary posts (see links below in my signature block).

    Good luck!

I think the OP was saying he gained all the weight back once the band was removed.

    Whoops! You're right.

Apologies to the OP for my misunderstanding.

Many people on here are band to sleeve conversions. They all had similar stories of bad lap bands that slipped or caused tons of side affects. The sleeve is far superior with much lower complication rates. You do have to follow your surgeons rules for proper eating but it is an amazing tool. Good luck on your new journey. Reach out and be active on here. It helps you remain successful and accountable. Congrats on your upcoming surgery. The sleeve is amazing.
