    Default Question

My surgery was 9/11/17 and everything is going pretty good now. Still kinda feeling bruised in the lower belly area, but everyday is getting better. I have 2 questions...sometimes when I eat, it feels like the food is going down sideways- it hurts all the way down. Is that from too big of bites or eating too fast? I thought I cut everything up small enough. I don't know, though.

Also, I have lost 25pounds and have been at 25 down for a week now, so I am assuming I am at a stall, but that's ok because I am still seeing small changes. I refuse to measure myself again until the 11th of October. My question is this: while I can see changes in my face and breast and even my toes look thinner...when will I start seeing changes in my stomach? Definitely, not complaining about the 25pds gone...that's never happened before and I'm ecstatic about it and looking forward to more leaving my body soon!!

Everyone is different, just take it one day at time. In terms of your eating it can be eating to fast or big bites, or even what you are eating. Somethings go down better than others.

    Blessings!

Our bodies are all so different that it's hard to predict when and where another person's body will lose weight. All I know is that if you lose ALL your excess weight, you'll lose either all or most of all the fat you need and want to lose. Exercise helps a lot, but it takes time to work its magic (yoga has wrought wonders on my old body during the last year and a half.)

And if all that doesn't get you to where you want, there are a lot of good plastic surgeons out there who can nip and tuck and suck your body into the shape you want.

All it takes is commitment, time, and money.

Chew it up a lot more. Solid foods can feel that way if they are not chewed up well. It will get better, though, in time.

It depends on what type of shape you have...

If you've always been an apple shape with the majority of your weight in the upper body, you can theoretically reach your goal weight and still have a disproportionately large stomach/abdominal area.

I always carried my excess weight in the lower body (hips, thighs, buttocks) even when I was fat, so I never really started off with a big belly.

A general rule of thumb is...your personal problem area is typically the last spot to become smaller and shed fat during weight loss. For you, the stomach area might be the last to drop pounds. For me it was my thighs.

    Good luck to you.

Hi, I still get a horrid squeezing feeling in my chest if I eat dry meat or chicken, and I’m almost 6 months out. It could be bites that are too big, or eating too fast. I sometimes do both of those things, and then I pay for it, big time!

Good luck and I wish you all the best!
It's never too late to be what you might have been . . .
