Default Think I'm getting a UTI

I'm not certain but I think I'm getting a UTI. I did a quick google search and found that it's not uncommon in WLS patients. I don't know if that's what it is as I've never had one before. I thought it was just period pains but my period has been and gone and the discomfort in my abdomen is still there. It feels like a strange pressure in my bladder, not unlike when I was pregnant and my daughter would use my bladder as a trampoline! It doesn't sting when I pee, but it definitely feels a bit hotter and more pressure than usual. I know I probably haven't been drinking enough water, but my pee has been light colored so I thought I was doing alright, but maybe that just wasn't enough.
Going to do lots of vitamin c, probiotics and sip some diluted apple cider vinegar to see if that helps.
    Anyone else experienced this?

Go see your GP Sarah so you can have a quick test and get onto some antibiotics if you need them. Best not to wait. Hope you feel better soon x

Thanks guys. Yeah I'm going to have to go to the doctor
From what I've read online, post-WLS surgery patients can have a hard time of it with their immune system getting compromised, so things like UTIs are common. My doc sent me home with a breathing tool to get me to take deep breaths in order to offset the chances of pneumonia, so I guess our immune systems really do take a hit.
Been drinking lots of water with a shot of apple cider vinegar in it and eating yoghurt with acidophilus in it but I know it's not going to be enough. I've been struggling to get even my gummi vitamins down because , well honestly, they just hurt going down, but I don't want to get any sicker so I'm going to have to suck them to death instead of chewing them.

Hope everyone else is doing alright!

Blue Umbrella -- suck down as much water as you can. It'll help across the board -- and is always recommended for folks who do have a UTI.

It can't hurt at all. And will certainly help everything.

    Best to you!

I had some weird pains in my lady parts in the very beginning. It wasn't an UTI. Never found out what it was. I was like a little stabbing pain. Almost like a weird little orgasm. It was nuts and lasted off and on a few weeks.

I did thanks CamCat. I actually ended up going to an Urgent Care place near me as my GP was closed that day. I really needed to be seen as the pain from the UTI was spreading up to my kidneys and I was in so much discomfort it hurt to breathe. The doc in Urgent Care put me on some very powerful antibiotics which made me feel quite sick for a while. I'm off to my GP next week to get checked to make sure it's all gone completely. I need to get hold of some acidophilus and really start replacing my gut flora to boost my immune system. I think after surgery my immune system was just run down and open to infection. I did a more detailed blog post about it too. UTI's are no fun!

My sister had a UTI before and the doctor prescribed her to take an antibiotic and drink plenty of water.

I drink a lot of water every time I feel like having a urinary tract infection. http://www.ard-ng.org/2017/11/13/how-valuable-is-water/

"Coconut water is a natural diuretic so it helps flush out bacteria from the urinary tract. However, a more effective strategy is to drink cranberry juice as it actually prevents E.coli bacteria, the bacteria most likely to cause a urinary tract infection, from attaching to the walls of the urinary tract." -https://www.google.com.ph/search?q=coconut+water+benefits+for+uti&rlz=1C1SXH P_enPH477PH477&oq=coconut+water+for+UTI&aqs=chrome .2.69i57j0l5.13077j0j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8

It pays rather than taking any antibiotic. I see to it that I am not dependent on medicines. Instead, I recourse on some natural treatments. In the event that despite my taking something naturally the problem still persists, that is the proper time for me to approach my doctor and other health professionals.

This is really interesting, I love raw coconut water, good to know it has such a great effect on our bodies by flushing out harmful bacteria. However I have been told that the pasteurization and incredibly high sugar content in commercial cranberry juice negates any positive effects on the body, so not sure if that would really help. There's always juicing/blending cranberries at home, although what we'd have to put with the cranberries in order to make them less bitter I'm not sure. When a juice is really bitter I usually throw in a decent sized lemon to cut through it. But cranberries are another level of bitterness. Maybe really sweet fruits like mango or banana would work.
