Default Major jitters.....four days till surgery!

Just curious if anyone else has second guessed their decision of VGS at this point? My anxiety is through the roof! The fear of the unknown is a killer! One day I am super excited to move forward on my journey the next I am freaking out! Appreciate your continued support from all of you. Reading all of your pre, post op and success stories have helped me tremendously I can't thank you enough.

I think I can safely say that everyone on here has had those feelings at one point. Truth be told most people have buyer's remorse the first week after surgery. That is when the "what the hell did I just do" feelings hit. Trust me it gets better and the results are so worth it!
Ask yourself these questions... Are you happy and healthy? Can you do everything you want do without being in pain or winded? Is your weight holding you back? Have your weight loss goals in the past actually worked and have you kept the weight off? I had to ask myself these questions and the answer was I made the right decision for me to have the surgery. Like many on here my only regret was not doing it sooner!
Keep the faith and you soon will be on the loser's bench!

Oh I hated the first 6 months trust me. I was tired all the time and just miserable. I often thought "WTH did I do??" but now over 5 years later and still maintaining my loss? Nope I'm good.

I was nervous before surgery but I couldn’t wait to start my new life. I had a brief moment of “what did I do” right after surgery. I woke up vomiting but that lasted for about an hour. The nurses were great and got it stopped. I was determined to do everything I could to get better so I walked between episodes. Having the Sleeve was the best thing I ever did. The surgery was way easier than I thought it would be. I cured my diabetes, high B/P, sleep apnea. No more Bipap and oxygen. Off 6 meds. I went from barely able to walk a flight of stairs to hiking and climbing mountains, running. Just completed 8 miles without stopping, having a road bike that I can ride 50+ miles up and down hills. After this surgery I recommend following your program, walking as soon has you can after surgery. Recommend taking nexium or something like it twice a day. It helps the stomach growling and the feeling your hungry. Caused by Stomach inflammation. Check out” Ask Dr Alvarez” show. Found it helpful after surgery. By end of week 2 I was walking 5-7 miles a day. I walked a track for first 6 weeks. Week 6 I started riding a stationary bike, elliptical. Week 8 started lifting weights, week 10 started hiking. Joined hiking and cycling clubs. Work on finding what your passions are. So important to eat right and exercise and live an active life style. Good luck with your surgery. Happy to answer any questions.

Scared a little at first but mostly excited. But I can say without a doubt....absolutely no regrets other than waiting so long to take the plunge. Best decision ever.

I was nervous but tried to be cool as a cucumber on the outside. My hubby and kids knew what I was doing and if they thought I was scared they would have talked me out of it for sure. I kept telling myself that this is finally my time and I deserve to live my very best life. It is amazing to be down 50 pounds in three months. I mean... OMG!!! I am taking this time to learn about myself and making better decisions to promote my health and well-being. My only regret is that I did not do this sooner. Best of luck to you xoxooxo

I was 100% nervous for a few days leading up to my surgery. But I was also excited to move forward with my life. I had diabetes, sleep apnea, chronic lower back pain, and high blood pressure prior to surgery. Notice I said had? That's right, HAD. I no longer have any of those medical problems. Gone, 100%!!!! I have absolutely no regrets and was happy with my decision by six weeks after surgery. I did have some regrets the first week, but once I got into my routine and could work out I never looked back!

    This surgery SAVED MY LIFE!!!!
    LOVING MY NEW LIFE!!!!

"Never take life to seriously, no one gets out alive anyway!"

Remember, in this thing, it's a good thing to be a loser!

    High Weight - 317
    Pre Surgery Weight - 291
    Current Weight - 181 OMG
    Target Weight -205 That's right, 205!!!!
