I am 25 days post op. I am still eating very very little, but i would love some more soft food variety. Looking for some ideas.
Thanks
Michele
One of my staples and still is, pureed black beans. I cook them with canned beans, chicken broth, onions, garlic and cumin. Then I use my immersion blender on them and it tastes just like refries beans! My husband loves them as well so it is a win win!

My choices were, scrambled eggs, fat free refried beans, humus, oikos yogurt, cottage cheese, peanut butter. I found during the pureed/soft stage that there were not many things that I even wanted to eat. Once I was able to slowly introduce solid foods it certainly got better. Good luck to you!!
I liked mixing the beans with a little chicken broth, fat free sour cream and hot sauce. Yum.
I ate the heck out of low fat refried beans with low fat cheese and salsa - still do. Shrimp too. I was never a big egg eater of any kind but now I love scrambled eggs and omelettes nearly every day. I keep fresh chorizo and taco mixture of meat on hand at all times in my fridge so my morning breakfast is either an omelette or scrambled eggs topped with a bit of that mixture.
My NUT said to take anything, add some liquid, and puree it with a food processor or blender. So I would make crock pot stews and roasts and puree mine. Egg, tuna, or chicken salad. Creamed soups. Ground beef with seasonings. If you use a blender or food processor you can have really any food.
Hello there Tommy.
No offense, but you seem to be in the same boat as I'm in. I weighed 433 2 weeks prior to my surgery. The day of my surgery 423. This past Monday, 416.The only thing I'm eating is 1 can of creamed soup with a 1/4 cup of milk added to thin it out, a few low fat yogurts, and popsicles. Should I be drinking protein shakes? If so, how often? I am a rt. leg BTK amputee. It's hard for me to walk, being I'M currently using a walker to walk. What exercises can I do, or do you suggest? Any other foods I should/ should not be eating? THANK YOU!
