Default Update: I broke my stall!

    Hi guys!

I'm happy to report I FINALLY broke my three week stall! I went back to very low carb eating (less than 20 grams per day) and increased my protein to 90 to 100 grams a day, and it is working. The carbs just slowly started working their way back into my diet, and that was not a Good thing for me. I'm 5 months post op, and I decided early on that I just wanted to eat moderately like a "normal" person, but I just can't lose unless I go low carb. That's just how my body operates. We just have to go with what works, and not compare ourselves with others. I know some of you can eat whatever you want and still lose or maintain, but I'm afraid that isn't the story for me. I just have to stay the low carb course, exercise when I can, and lose slowly because that's how it is with my body.

Thanks for all your posts and encouragement along the way. You all help me and inspire me! Cheers, Patti

Awesome! I'm really happy for you! I need to take and post pictures, too, like you did. We have to follow the course our bodies want to take, right? I sure I'll probably stall again, but hopefully I won't freak out like this time. I'll just stay low carb and carry on, and have faith the weight will start dropping again.

I wish you every success! Happy trails, Patti

Ps - thanks for the victory dance! I REALLY appreciate it!

Hi Patti, congrats and I think most of us are more like you than you think! I found that if I don't get the protein and stay low carb I stall as well even if calories are still low. Best of luck to you! What I found that works for me is to have 1 day (Saturday's) that I allow myself a higher carb content and then get right back on plan next day. If I stick to that I continue to show week over week weight loss.

    Day of Surgery - 459

Hi Tom! Thank you! I think you're right about introducing a higher carb content regularly. I think it sort of jump starts you into weight loss land, and keeps things a little mixed up so your body doesn't get too comfortable with a certain carb load. Make sense?

You've done so well, Tom! I'm so happy for you! Let's both stay with what works for us, and let's reach our goals, one pound at a time! Cheers, Patti

Congrats on breaking your stall. I know I had to find what worked for me as well. I was low carb until I hit my goal weight. I eat carbs now but still make protein and veggies my focus.
