Some things I have read, say that their emotions and feelings get in the way. I have depression and am concerned about how I will feel. I take antidepressants now and for the most part, it is controlled, other than not liking the way I look.
This is anecdotal, but my husband says my mood is significantly improved since my surgery. Depression is a very real thing, but I believe that your surroundings help or hurt too, and when you are losing weight, feeling stronger and more in control, you feel better. That is not to say, long-term that you won't still have depression issues, but I would say that initially I wouldn't worry. All that food never helped your depression anyway.
