    Default Loose Skin--what to do?

I'm still new to the sleeve, but am trying to prepare as much ahead of time as I can for the loose skin I guess before it starts to get loose? I realize that it will probably be a fact of life after loss since I've been this size for a long time, but have any of you found anything that has helped improve it any? TIA?

I was 288 before I started pre-op diet and around that size for along time. I have lost 121lbs in less than 8mos. I do not have loose skin. I have areas I'm working to build muscle were I didn't have. Like back of arms. So I'm a little jiggly. My fat is dissolving away, lol. I work out everyday. I sweat, climb hills, lift weights both free and machines. I think between diet, exercise and maybe genetics has helped to prevent that. I don't know. So the good news is that may not happen to you if you eat properly and exercise. Good luck with your journey.

Exercise helps, but losing a large amount of weight will probably result in loose skin. The more you have to lose, the more skin. I lost under 100, and while a tummy tuck would be nice, I'm not going to bother with it. I'm 60 and won't be wearing any more bikinis. Plus being sliced hip to hip scares me.

We've had plastic surgeons talk twice at support group, and both said no plastic surgery until you've been at your goal weight for one year.

I lost 75 pounds or so and had 8 inches of skin removed with a tummy tuck. The rest I didn't care about since nothing else was all that noticeable other than my stomach

Was it horrible? I am continually tempted but the procedure looks so painful, and the recovery so long. So I guess I'm asking is was it worth it, would you do it again? Did you lose a pants size?

While I have some loose skin, especially on my belly, I find I am not concerned with it. Also I read someone else's post to wait about 18 months and that extra skin could "tighten" up. I am enjoying the "new" me just as I am, healthier and happier!!

My loose skin is minimal and I have lost 95 lbs on my 4'11" frame. Hydration (water in/lotion out), exercise, good nutrition, vitamins, and collagen. That is what I have done. I have pics in my blogs of my results. Right now I have no intention of having skin removal surgery. I think it will continue to improve with what I am doing.

It was totally worth it and yes the recovery was painful - I was able to get into jeans within 2 weeks but I was still swollen - took maybe 3 months for the swelling to totally go away. And not really dropped a size; it just made the size 1's I was in more comfortable. I had it done in January 2015 and I am still numb from the belly button down to the pubic bone. Never regain sensation I am sure by now.

Mine was a little different than a regular tummy tuck I would think since he found 2 hernias when he got in there and fixed them both. The first 3 days was total and pure hell not gonna lie then it was just "tender" but again I am sure it was made worse due to the TT plus the hernias
