    Default Endoscopy with a cold

    Hi everyone!
Scheduled for my endoscopy on Wed. morning and I've come down with a terrible cough and cold (teach preschool so it's a common problem), anyway, will I still be able to get my endoscopy? No fever. Does anyone know? I've had to arrange for subs. etc.. and I'm taking everything I can think of to speed it up. I need this piece over.Thank you!!!

    I found this online...

Do I need to cancel my procedure if I have a cold/fever?
If you have symptoms of the flu or you are sick with a fever, please reschedule your appointment and contact your primary care physician for medical care. If you are coming to the center for a procedure and have symptoms of the flu, your procedure will be canceled.

But if yours is a cold with no fever I don't know. I would call on Monday and find out. I would think that if you are taking medications it could interact with the anesthesia. That would be the main concern I think.

I don't think a cold will prevent you from getting the endoscopy. In the meantime, vitamin C and OJ might help

Hello everyone! Thanks for all of your help. It's over and I'm here to report that yes, even if you have a minor cold they will perform your endoscopy.
On another note, I chose this as my beginning because I was afraid of it. People have been telling me horror stories of waking up during endoscopy, gagging, trauma from the procedure.....I knew if I had the courage to do the hardest part for me first, then I CAN do this. Glad it's over and to everyone who needs one and is afraid, It really was a piece of cake. You are completely under in the most divine sleep and then you open your eyes. No pain, no waking up, no gagging, easy peasy!

I don't know but will say a little prayer for you so that you can have this part behind you. It is hard when you have to juggle everyone around to reschedule. xoxox
