Default just a mom and grandma getting the sleeve and gallbladder removed

Hi, just wanted to introduce myself I am 41 yrs old and started my journey last September.
I started out with going to Mayo Clinic in Rochester mn but because of my insurance
I was sent to Sioux Falls SD for my surgery, with Dr Curtis Peery.
So far all has gone well except during my 4 month supervised diet and exercise I ended up gaining 8 lbs
And then losing 6 and gaining 4 back. I went August 23rd and was down 8 more lbs and I go back October 19th and I'm now so
Far down another 7 lbs so my surgery date will be scheduled.
I have to do a 2 week liquid diet with their shakes bariatric advantage.
I will also get clear liquids on this diet as long as they are sf. I am also needing my gallbladder out.
The last appt they could have started everything and gave me
A date but I have fatty liver and they want to make sure my liver shrinks for my own safety.
I have had nothing but a great experience with Sanford medical and dr Peerys team. I go back tomorrow to the psych and have
Another psych eval because my last eval expired. Everything is on schedule
And I am prepared and excited to start my
New journey. I'm looking to connect with others that had the sleeve or others that received their care through Sanford also out of Sioux
Falls SD. I wish everyone well and wonderful
Success thank you for reading and responding in advance

Welcome! I live in St. Cloud! I too started my journey last fall. My surgery was done at the university of Minnesota downtown in May.This surgery saved my life. It is worth all the hard work that goes into it. I also am 41 and a grandma! I wanted to be a more active grandma. Love my granddaughter and boy does she keep me busy! Good luck and pm if you want to talk!

Welcome. Congrats and good luck on your upcoming surgery. The insurance process can be tedious. I also went through it but once you finally get your surgery it will be so worth it. Reach out if you have any questions or need any advice/support. This place is my sanity.

    Hi Christie13

Could you tell me what you had to do as far as insurance process? Also, what insurance do you have? I have United Healthcare. Also what type of food are you able to eat and how much? Thanks.
