Hello,

Happy Friday everyone! I am twenty day out from my Gastric Sleeve surgery and I am EXTREMELY excited and nervous!! I am trying to prepare for my post op diet and recovery. Can anyone recommend a good tasting protein shake? So excited to be apart of this forum. I hope everyone is doing well.

Congrats Mara!!!! The 20 days will fly by and you will be post-op (on the Sleever's Bench) before you know it!!! There have been a lot of discussions about different protein drinks. I drank the Premier Protein early on. Do a search for protein shakes and you will find a bunch of posts for reference. Best wishes to you ~ you will do great!!!!!! xo

I personally like every protein shake I have drank.. however the higher the protein the better. I currently drink premier protein. They have 30g per serving.

I personally liked the Advant Edge low carb shakes...but I only liked chocolate. The Premier made me queasy but most people prefer those. Also, it is best to ask your surgeon or nutritionist. I know my surgeon's office said that not all protein shakes are good for sleevers. We need different vitamins and minerals. For example, I was specifically told not to use muscle milk.

No muscle milk pro doesn't have vitamins in it but I never had to rely on the shake for that bc I was only only a clear liquid diet right to puree. I've lost a lot more weight than the average person. I use muscle milk pro to get the protein it's 40g. I was told premier was terrible to use. Advant Edge would be good if it's all you're taking in. I never had to worry about that bc my Dr has had more success with his patients doing it how he does.
