Default Week 7. Scared I've streched my pouch.

My first time on here. I'm half way through my 7 week after gastric sleeve. I over ate these last two days due to lots of labor day get togethers. I'm so scared I have streched my pouch. How can you tell if you have or not? Thanks in advance.

    Nope. Guarantee you didn't.

But you can overeat any time by eating little bits continuously -- it's called "grazing." And it's how some WLS patients regain their weight. You don't want to go there!

You are only 7 weeks out--there is no way that you have stretched your sleeve. HOWEVER, you are only 7 weeks out--don't let this become a habit. Get yourself right back on your program. Don't undo your progress!

I'm sure your sleeve is fine however you were probably eating a lot of foods the bariatric world calls slider foods and they allow bariatric patients to consume large amounts of calories without feeling full. Recommend getting some help if your having trouble changing your old habits. We can't aford to fall into these kinds of food traps anymore. If you eat your protein first you won't hungry and be as temted. You may have to do some things different until you have worked on this. Just think how good your starting to feel looseing weight and how good your going to feel when you which your goal. There are support groups for over eaters/ binge or emotional eaters, counseling which I did before my surgery. It really helped me. Also group support classes for bariatric surgery patients. I did that one first three months after surgery. If your having trouble resisting find away to distract yourself, go for a walk. Remember too your still retraining your brain. It takes a little time to reprogram are old ways and reprogram are new ways in. Also helps me to set goals and I also would buy a cute shirt or pants I like that were two small to help motivate my weightloss at the beginning. Than when it fits its a great feeling of accomplishment and it so fun remembering when it didn't! Goodluck you can do this.

I am sure you have not stretched it. As Ann said, it takes continuous overeating. That being said, get back on track, stop beating yourself up, and move on.

One day at a time, get back on the wagon because obviously if you think you've overeaten; you have and that's not a good way to start the journey. You haven't physically stretched the sleeve, but you can certainly keep on exhibiting negative behaviors that will impede the process along the way. The surgery doesn't fix our brains, and this is a great time to take advantage of the honeymoon period and start practicing positive food behaviors. Continued success!
