Hi to all! I hv been reading here for a while and decided to join. Would luv to find support and share support on this journey. I hv not told many ppl and the ones I hv told are not offering tons of support. More questions and skeptical. I understand as I hv been researching gastric sleeve surgery for a while and they are new to the idea. Anyway, best wishes to all and I'll take some positive vibes too. 

Best wishes to you. I received mixed reactions, but in the end, I knew that my reasons for having the surgery were sound. I needed to do this for my health. I'm glad we can all support each other here.

Best thing I ever did!!!! I've lost 117lbs. No longer have Sleep Apnea,diabetes,High Blood Pressure. Off the Bi-Pap/Oyxgen machines, off five medications. Woohoo‼️ I feel amazing and can do so much more and have more energy than I know what to do with. I can run,hike,rock climb,ôbike ride again.Fit in any restaurant booth or chair. Fit through camper opening without opening the slide out. Fit in any airplane seat,bathroom,no need for seatbelt extender either.
The Sleeve has been a life Savor and so freeing. I'm happy to answer any questions. Goodluck with your journey

good luck!! my surgery is scheduled for just a few days after yours on the 18th. Some people do not understand, it is hard to make them understand. How is the liquid diet going?

Congrats on your upcoming surgery. I can tell you that I only told 4 very close friends and my immediate family. I knew that people can be very judgmental. I know people assume it but I can tell you that most people will ask you how you lost the weight but do not have the balls to ask you flat out. I don't offer up anything more than exercise, clean eating, and portion control. Not their business.

Hi Aquinn. The liquid diet is super hard for me. I'm hungry. But I'm doing it. Not perfect but it's happening. Are you on pre op diet yet? Good luck on 19th.

Hi, thanks for writing & staying in touch. I start the liquid diet tomorrow. Looking forward to surgery, but preparing for hurricane Irma now. I too will have a hard time with the liquid diet. But it needs to be done for a safer surgery. Stay strong & keep your mind on something else vs food. Keep me posted, please.

When on the pre-op, the best defense is to keep your mind active so you don't think about food. And go to bed early, I am at my worst when I am tired. When you start to feel hungry, stand up and go for a walk. You wont be less hungry if it is real hunger but you will be closer to the next scheduled meal at least. If it is head hunger, you will have diverted your head to another activity.

PS - AQuinn, I love your avatar. We are definitely a Disney house. You will be astonished how much easier the parks are when you are carrying less around with you. And more enjoyable. We went to Dollywood in June and I actually fit onto every coaster. Climbing the hills that two years ago where insane where hardly noticed this summer.

hi, i just read your post and appreciate what you have said....that you needed to do this for your health and glad we can support each other here. i am just starting my journey-no surgery date yet, but it might be in december. being an older candidate at age 66, i feel like i add a few years to my life if i can get these health issues under control. the weight loss IS a plus, mind u, but i am not wanting to get back down to my high school weight. no body would recognize me...lol!! anyhow, healthier in mind and spirit with a smile on my face is the main goal. will hope to post again with good news in the future.

Greg, I am def the same....not my best at all when I'm tired. It's like my body in an effort to stay awake sends me munching. Not good. Going to bed is best. Thx for the tips! And congrats on your success.
