    Default 4 days post op

I had the procedure this past Tuesday, August 22nd. The medical staff at the hospital were all very professional and supportive. I had trouble with the liquid diet on the first day after the surgery, but my fluid intake (including the protein shakes) is better now.

I am encouraged that I don't seem to be hungry at all. I was concerned that I would feel like I was starving, but fortunately that has not happened.

August 22, 2017 could well turn out to be one of the most important days of my life.

I am glad to hear everything went so well for you. I did not have any initial hunger either. I had to remind myself to sip my protein shakes because I didn't feel hunger or thirst. After about a week I felt "hunger pangs" that were actually acid reflux and I had to start taking Prilosec. It lasted a few months. Just a heads up. (And that is common for sleevers to have that and need antacids.) But you should not feel real hunger. In the beginning I had to eat multiple tiny meals a day. Now that I am farther out I eat 3 meals and 1-2 snacks a day. They are still pretty small even being 9 1/2 months out. Enjoy your journey. Reach out if you need support or have questions. This is the beginning of your brand new life. Before you know it you will be hitting your goal weight and entering maintenance. If you haven't done so already, take progress pictures and measurements now. They help you track your progress when the scale is not showing it. I recommend wearing something as form fitting as possible like a bathing suit. Measure your chest, hips, waist, thighs, calves, bicep. Take the pics/measurements every 2 weeks. You'll be glad you did that even if they are only for you to see.

Six days out and still get dizzy. I attribute it to the low calories, and also a reminder to take more fluid. I was very tired and foggy feeling days 1-4, I feel like the last 2 days have been nothing but moving forward and more energy. Best wishes

You're going to love the next 6-12 months -- all that *missing* ghrelin (hunger hormone) that your big old stomach used to produce has gone bye-bye.

Eventually, your body (may or may not) begin to find new ways to produce ghrelin. But in the meantime, you'll feel like you're on diet pills.

BTW, not everyone knows this (although you may have learned it already), ghrelin is also the *thirst* hormone. That means you can't wait to "feel thirsty" to drink. You have to drink regularly anyway.

    Best wishes!
