I had similar issues and couldn't figure out why I wasn't bouncing back the way I thought I should be. When I went to my second post-op appointment my doctor and I went over my list of medications and it turned out that I had misread the post-op instructions and there was a medication that I should have been taking, but wasn't. I started taking it again, and almost magically my strength began to come back the way I expected it to. My point is that it may be just some small thing that your doctor needs to tweak to get you back in balance. Call you surgeon's office and ask questions if you aren't scheduled for an appointment soon.

Thank you Linda 51 for the reply. They put me on a fall stone preventive medicine that made me sick. I called my PA and she told me to stop for a few days . Feel better now but the weakness for climbing steps continue.

I feel your pain. It took me about 1.5 months to get semi normal and not so tired. Almost 3 months out now and I am walking over 5 miles a day. I've NEVER been able to do that! Anyhoo what I'm saying is it will get better. Just keep moving.

Make sure you are getting enough water and protein. Are you taking vitamins? A multi vitamin, calcium citrate, B12, D3...all important. Have you had your blood tested for your levels?

About one month post-op, I was having issues where I got light headed just standing up. the doc dropped the blood pressure meds then everything got instantly better. As far as weakness, your body is starving itself. You are likely not getting enough good protein. Once you get to soft foods and can get in the proper protein things will change quickly.
