    Default Pain Question

    Hi again everyone,

I'm sorry I'm full of questions but my surgery is a week from today so I'm getting a bit panicked that I may forget or not know something. I know everyone's pain tolerance is different. But, I guess I need an honest opinion of the pain that you experienced post-op.

I've had 2 C-sections in my life and they were painful. Not terrible, but definitely painful. On a scale of 1-10 for anyone who have had prior surgeries to compare it to, how bad was it?

Any advise or input is greatly appreciated.

Also, has anyone used Aslimmerme in Tijuana?

I also had 2 c-sections and found the sleeve WAY easier and less painful. My surgeon gave me liquid anti nausea and pain meds. I used each about 3 times the first week and that was it. Like 3 doses. I could've taken them like 4x a day but didn't need to.

Thank you so much for the information Christie. I really appreciate it. I'm supposed to go out on the truck with my husband for a week once I get back to Texas, so I needed to estimate my pain lol

I have 9 months post op so Im kinda versed on the topic. The pain for me was mild. Natural childbirth was so much harder and I have to imagine that a C-section is a lot more difficult as well. the only incision that was more annoying than anything was the one where the Doc pulled the excess stomach out. Now the incision itches and that's about it. I have healed wonderfully. I was more nervous to pull something or break something lol I think you will be just fine. Remember to remain positive and exercise as soon as you are given clearance to do so.

If by "go out on the truck" you mean climb up into an 18 wheeler, you will want to be very careful that you aren't pulling or straining something that you shouldn't. Also, not sure what kind of roads you will be traveling, but bouncing around is very uncomfortable for the first week or so. If you're careful, I would think that you would be fine. Just lay back in the sleeper and read a few good books. When you aren't on the road, be sure to get some walking done and you'll feel much better. And take some Gas-X with you to relieve that little problem.

Thank you Linda! I intend to take it easy and do some relaxing. I also intend to walk as much as possible. The hubby already has the step situation all lined out because at 4'11" it's a haul even without a new stomach

Very little pain expect gas pain though.. Gas x strips help . I personally wouldn't want to be out in a truck though for a week post op.

    Hi PokerGuy,

It's not my ideal situation but when your spouse is gone 90% of the time, I don't want to waste my time off from work sitting here when I can be out seeing things and spending time with him. I have Gas X chewables. Can't find any strips around anywhere. Hopefully they help. I'm also going to buy the childrens drop version just in case I can't do the chewables. Any other suggestions?

Order strips from Amazon they will deliver them.. You will regret not having them. Bring lots of pillows with you in the truck. If you get gas/acid reflux it helps to to sleep propped up. Or sitting up. Make sure and bring lots of bandages on the truck and the antibacterial soap and spray. One of the most important things if making sure to NOT get the incisions infected. Find a protien shake before surgery that you like and can tolerate.
Take earplugs with you to the hospital in case you are in a room with other people as obese people tend to snore LOUDLY !

I hadn't thought about the pillows. Thank you! I have tons of bandages to take to Tijuana with me and then on the truck. They give you the antibacterial stuff and antibiotics just in case. I've been blessed with Premier Protein. I really like their caramel and their banana shakes. Great information. Thanks so much!

Did you go to Tijuana too?

I have had two laparoscopic procedures for female issues. This, by far, was the easiest with regard to pain.

You have seen it here before - walk as much as you can (within reason) post op. WHen I stood up to walk the first time after surgery, I was a little unsteady. My husband helped me. I could not sleep in the middle of the first night post op and I was up walking the halls by myself at 1:00 a.m., 2:30, and 4:30 a.m.; I let my husband sleep. I was fine.

Yeah. You should be fine. As long as you can wear pants that are not rubbing on your incisions. They are so tiny compared to the big C-section scar. And now at 9 months post op I can barely see them.
