    I started taking probiotics at about 6 months out to see if they'd alleviate my constipation issues and promote regularity. After about 1 month I stopped taking them because they were pricey and I noted no difference in my GI health.

    However, I recommend acacia fiber powder depending on the situation...

    I don't. I used to take them a long time ago but never really felt health benefits either.

    Hi all,
    I have found (and my doctor recommends) that probiotics help more with diarrhea, not so much with constipation... I used to take them a few years ago, because I had horrible diarrhea issues, and they did help quite a bit. But, then I became really constipated! LOL. I now take a daily fiber supplement. It's Fiber Choice and comes in a chewable, which tastes pretty good. It's inulin fiber, which comes from fruits and veggies. It helps to keep me pretty regular. I love it and would highly recommend!

    I took them weeks 2-4 post op. Mainly just to get my stomach back to a healthy level and to try and stop heartburn and Gas issues. Didn't really help but didn't hurt.. It's hard to tell if there was any benefit or none at all.

    My NUT recommended them, I have taken a few the last few days. Added to the arsenal of vitamins I am now taking I can't tell a difference with that specific one LOL

    I have been taking probiotics for a few years now. I mainly use them to help boost my immune system, since most of your immune system is in you stomach. I work around a lot of contagious diseases as a nurse so I need all the help I can get with keeping my immune system in good shape.

    I only started taking probiotics and prebiotics about 8 months ago and have seen my ferritin levels steadily increase as I can better absorb iron which has been a struggle for my 3 years post op. My constipation is finally gone after years of struggle as well. They are working for me.
