Default Heartburn to More Surgery- Gastric Bypass

I have had continuous heart burn since about 2 months post op from gastric sleeve done on 9/22/16. The only real fix is to have the gastric bypass which I am now scheduled for on 8/24/17. I am wondering who out there has or is experiencing the same symptoms and did the gastric bypass help? Aso, does your hair fall out again about seven months post op ? One more questions, has anyone experienced any intestinal issues after the bypass? If so, what and for how long? Any continuous nausea post op that lasts indefinitely?
Thank you in advance for any replies!

I don't know but my question to you would be is the bypass going to create additional initial speedy weight loss like a new sleeve? I ask because you're so close to goal. Keep us informed.

I can only comment on the hair loss, mine is falling out like crazy. I was sleeved in January. It seemed to be bad around 3 months and now again (probably worse than the first time).

I had bad heartburn before the surgery and I think it's about the same now. It may be a little better, but it still can creep up expectantly! It was a killer last night, but amazingly eating a bit helped clear it up.
Best of luck with your surgery, I hope it helps you!

Some don't know that excess stomach acid feels exactly like hunger. And yes, eating will make it feel better (as long as you don't lie down immediately afterward). That means that excess stomach acid will tend to make you overeat just to make your tummy feel better. And that means ... weight gain!

I'm extremely interested in hearing how this works out for you. My heartburn and reflux is terrible. I know the only cure for it is to convert to bypass. I have not felt that this was an option for me as I already lost too much weight with the sleeve. Now that my weight is back up to a good size, bypass could be something I would consider as long as I won't lose a bunch more weight. I hope you'll keep us posted on how it all works for you.

I never had any heartburn in my life, yet I had a hiatal hernia repaired during surgery. Go figure. I was put on famotidine when I was released from the hospital and was on it for 3 months. My doctor told me to stop at that time, which I did. I have no issues with heartburn/acid reflux, thank God.

The only intestinal issues I endured was the constipation that went on and on for a couple of months (that many have suffered through).

My surgeon did mention that there is this "ring" they use now to help alleviate acid reflux, instead of undergoing a gastric ypass. I can't remember what it's called. It slips on like a band and does something or other. Good luck on the bypass.
