Default 17 days Post op and Guess what I had for Breakfast?

A soft scrambled Egg! Whew Hoo. It went down easy in about 5 minutes and stayed down with no problems. No stomach problems either.

I'm so proud to be a member of the egg eating sleevers. LOL

I still have trouble with the foam/froth in protein shakes and can't eat yogurt yet. But nice I can get 6 grams of protein in morning with and egg.

No need to reply with congrats , unless you have any questions.

    PG.

Lucky! It took me until about 3 months post op to be able to tolerate eggs in any form.

I changed up my protein supplement drinks often for the same reason.

Have you tried Cottage cheese? I found a high protein one at Sprouts Farmers Market, in case you have one near you.

Are you having issues getting your protein in? Try Fa!rlife milk. It has more protein than regular milk and is lactose free. A lot of sleevers go through a period of lactose intolerance post op.

Try premier protein shakes. They are ready made, no froth and pretty darn good especially caramel and strawberries and cream. 30 grams of protein too! I temper when I had my first egg, was awesome!!

Thanks for the all feedback everyone. I am really having a problem with stomach acid and heartburn which is why my shakes might not be staying down. I'm taking prevacid which really help but it's still and issue.

@tommy I will try the premier shakes.
@Christie . I am really having trouble getting my protein..I did pickup some lactose free milk and tolerate it just fine as long as there isn't any protein powder in it. I guess I just need to drink the milk plain. (or pickup some strawberry quick? : )
@Shirl I never liked cottage cheese but I guess I'll give it a try.. What protein shake did you end up tolerating?

Congrats on the egg. Never thought you'd be congratulated on eating an egg, did you?

The protein shakes that work are so very personal. The one I loved (and still love -- still drink one every morning) is the GNC Lean Shake 25 -- 25 grams of protein and 170 calories. My fave is the Swiss Chocolate.

But really -- you just have to taste-test a number of them until you find the one(s) that work for you.

Well that Joy was short lived. Today the same scrambled egg came back up 30 minutes after eating it. Actually it came back up when I started drinking water 30 minutes after I finished eating.. That was a bit odd timing.

I feel like food gets stuck in the EUS (upper esophageal sphincter) and it doesn't open to let things down into the stomach.

Learn different ways to make eggs. They have been a staple of my diet even through now, almost a year out. Keep up the good work.
