Feeling hungry

Hi I had my sleeve last Saturday, everything went great! I feel wonderful, its just I'm still on liquids and finding myself thinking about food alot and feeling a little hungry..is this normal? I know I have to change my thoughts, the surgery only changes our tummies but is it normal to think about food and feel hungry at this early stage?? Thanks

Feeling hungry that early could be acid reflux. Most surgeon prescribe a PPI for the first month post-op. I had bad acid reflux for several months, did cut my dosage in half around month 6 then stopped completely a few months ago. I have to watch my diet and still take Tums. Many people don't have bad acid reflux for months but just at the beginning.

No being able to eat it's normal to think about food, but soon you will be on full liquid then soft food it will get better!

are you taking something for stomach acid? stomach acid can mimic hunger. There's also mental hunger of course that we have to overcome.

thanks everyone! I think alot of it is boredom because I havent gone back to work yet and I'm just bored in my apt .....i started doing my treadmill 30 min a day and today Im not very hungry lol. I know before I used to eat all the time hungry or not and I think I just miss eating real food ...

You will feel so much better once you start on soft foods and even better on solids. As previously stated, most likely it is acid reflux. I had the same problem. Once you get past that, it is easier.

Yes it's normal my surgery. Date 07/17 I'm eating mashed cauliflower potatoes with scoop of 20 g unflavored protien powder also liquified black beans with bone broth I just can't drink sweet stuff so get you some unflavored protien powder and you can add it to anything you want
