Time off after getting lap band removed and sleeved.

I know it's been asked before, but I'm taking out my lap band and getting the sleeve on July 26th. I have about 3 weeks off. Has anyone had this done and how did they feel after 3 weeks? I'm a teacher and I'm starting at a new school. I don't exactly want to tell anyone I'm getting surgery. I'm getting scared and I'm thinking maybe I should back out. I need some encouragement right now.

I don't know how the lab band part will work, but I know that one week after surgery with the sleeve I felt AMAZONG! And two weeks after I started working on my classroom getting set up for the new school year. I say just do it!! Worst case you will still be sore when you start back, but the first 10-14 days are all setting up procedures any ways. YOU CAN DO IT!!

Thank you! I'm feeling a little overwhelmed and hearing that a fellow teacher went through it too, helps. I appreciate the input

Absolutely!! I also have found that (once your stomach can handle it) having jerky with you in the classroom helps keep your energy up throughout the day. I also LOVE the chocolate premier protein shakes it's like drinkin chocolate milk! The 30g of protoen is a great addition too!!

I'm drinking protein shakes now. I liked them before but 7 days in, I'm done. I'll make sure to bring protein shakes and jerky with me. I know i will need to have energy Thank you!

I converted from the lap band and happy I did. I had so many problems with the lap band.

I hate my band. I have had many problems too. Can you tell me how the process goes? How's the recovery? The nurse told me I'd have lots of pain where the port was. Do we really get 2 huge shots before the surgery ? I know I have to give myself 2 shots a day for 21 days. I'm reading so many different things that I'm getting freaked out. Do you think I'll be ok to go back to work after 3.5 weeks since you've been through this before? My surgery is Wednesday and I'm really getting more scared as it gets closer.
