Default Been on a stall for 2.5 months

Had the sleeve done in November 2016. Was systematically losing 10lbs each month. Started at 310, and am now at 235. I haven't lost a pound in 2.5 months. I've noticed my appetite is increasing, and I can eat a lot more now, which scares me a lot. I've upped my physical activity, but I feel like I've been gaining since I started upping the workouts. I hate being stuck like this, I want to get into the 190's as my goal. Please help!

What is your food intake looking like? How many calories do you consume in a day? Do you track this?

Anyhow, glycogenation is the dominant reason we gain weight when we start 'upping' our workout routines. Exercise boosts our muscle tissue's energy storage capacity.

Since active bodies need more fuel, your body is adapting by shuttling the carbohydrates you eat as glycogen in your muscle tissue. Each gram of glucose gets stored with about 3 grams of water, and the typical individual can store about 15 grams per kilogram in body weight of glycogen. This is the most common reason we see stalled weight loss (or even weight gain) when increasing exercise.

So, you may have lost some fat when 'upping' your workouts, but the progress you made has been masked by water weight gain. You may have lost a few of pounds of fat but gained a few pounds of glycogen in that time.

Should I back off on the work outs? I try to eat around 1000-1200 calories a day.

    I would keep working out...definitely.

You probably aren't eating enough calories for your active lifestyle. 1000 to 1200 calories is somewhat low for 8 to 9 months out. I suspect your metabolic rate is slowing to a crawl due to too much exercise and not enough food intake.

At 9 months out I was eating 1500+ calories daily. I am now 2+ years out and maintain a lowish body weight of 118 to 120 pounds on 2000+ calories a day. If you exercise, you need to feed your active body what it needs or it will fight back.

I agree that you probably need to up your caloric intake. I have found that when I stall I start losing again when I up my calories.
