    Unhappy Weak, oh so weak!

I had surgery July 7 and overall feel well, but the last few days I am just so very weak!
walking the dogs 1.5 blocks away to the dog park is difficult.
I am having difficulty eating, I can get stuff down pretty easily, but I am sick of what I a restricted to. So far I can manage to reliably get 65 G of protein a day.
Is being weak after surgery a common thing?

Very common. It's an anesthesia thing. It took me 6 weeks to come back to full energy. Don't worry, this is not forever!

Take naps! I love naps! Seriously, for now just try to sleep/rest, get in your required liquid and protein, and take some little walks. Don't push it yet! I think I slept that whole first week after surgery. So yes, it's common. You just had SURGERY.

It'll get better soon - promise!

I had surgery the same day as you and i have never never slept so much. Perticularly the last 2 days. That and I have been very weak.. I'm a strong guy (weight lifter) with a low BMI about 33. So, I didn't think it would be this weak .. I walk 20 ft to the bathroom and have to lay down and rest. Last night I slept 13 hours and I took 3 naps today between 1 and 2 hours each. So, you seem to be doing Great compared to me.
Take it easy.. Don't walk too much too soon. for please please don't eat anything outside your doctors timeline. It can cause serious damage to your stomach.

Yes it is. The more protein and fluids you get the better. Also, make sure you take your vitamins. B12 can be very helpful!
