    Default flat tummy?

    Hi Everyone!
I haven't posted in quite some time. I hope the summer is going well for you and that you are enjoying life.
I am just going to say this....because I don't know how else to put it out there!
In clothes I look thin and healthy. When the clothes come off...I have quite a belly still. If I try to lose more weight it doesn't come off of my belly area. I get thinner in the face, chest, and arms.
Any advice for my belly? It makes me feel like I am still fat. I don't think I will be happy until it is gone, and I am not sure that is possible without surgery?
I love working out these days. I am on a brief hiatus though because I had a medical surgery 2 weeks ago.

    Thanks everyone!
    Jaime

    Hi Jaime,

It will really depend on how bad are your muscles. If they are ok and not separated you can exercise and it will help with posture and give more support to the skin. But if there's lot's of extra skin....you can try massage with oil but stretched skin sometimes doesn't come back to "normal".

I had a big tummy, lost lots in that area and even if the skin did bounce back compare to the first 6 months post op there's still a lot of skin that won't go away, plus my muscle are separated and only surgery can help that issue. I do wear support garments and clothing does look better that way, but no way I could look good in a two pieces bathing suit...

    Thank you.
I think we are in the same boat. I lost about 160 pounds....I don't think the belly is going anywhere.

My daughter is a PA for a plastic surgeon. She says that a tummy tuck is her favorite, most transforming surgery. I don't have that much skin, and won't consider it because it's STILL stomach surgery and it's tough!

I think with that amount of weight loss you may need the tuck. I know it is the most common plastic surgery post WLS.
