I did it! Triathlon #1 completed! Can't believe where I am now!

As promised, here are some pictures of my triathlon.

I am very happy with my performance. My official time was 1:15:16, and I finished 7th in my age group (45 - 49 year old males), 64th overall (of approx. 300 participants). I can't believe how much fun I had training for, and running this race. I'm doing another one in a month! Today starts another round of training. I'm getting a heart rate monitor so I can train a little smarter this time.

Headed out of transition and onto the run course. The hill started 1/10th of a mile from here (and lasted for over 1.5 miles ).... (My daughter is also here cheering me on).

Post race bliss! There was free wine, fruit, and some really good healthy food choices all free! (Well, you did have to run the triathlon to get it, but it was kind of free.)

I don't know if it gets better or you just get used to it. Invest in a good pair of biking shorts! I don't have the natural padding I used to have!
