Alcohol and regrets

Last night I had my first cocktail, a Manhattan, we met my partner's friend for dinner at a swanky South Beach restaurant, A Fish Called Avalon, he was already there and sipping on his as soon as we arrived he insisted we try it. Next thing I know It's in front of me.

We were in restaurant for four hours!!! And it took me that long to sip it, then they ordered a bottle of wine, then of course who wants to pass tge opportunity to taste an expensive bottle of wine. I gave the waiter a look of not much, which he complied, and didnt touch it much.

I felt fine actually, I was scared I would get super tipsy, but no drunk out of control feelings at all.

I felt fine when I woke up this morning, no hangover to speak of... Except my feet and hands and face felt swollen!!! I go look in the mirror and my eyes are puffy! Yish!!! Thank goodness that I brought my water pill prescription, needed it when I flown, but no need for it as of late until now!

My biggest regret is that drinking didn't leave much room for the delicious food I didn't get to taste much.

South Beach is Heaven on Earth!!! Sounds like you stayed in control even having a drink and sips of wine. I'm sure it is an on-going learning process no matter how long you have had your sleeve. Nutrients are key, I bet you will make a better choice next time?

I dont like wine or manhattans, so i would have had no problem eating all the yummies! Lol

ive only had tastes of my husbands margaritas since surgery.... Im still nervous about taking that plunge. Plus, id rather spend the calories on a couple bites of tres leches cake anyway.

Lol! Agreed! Rather like tres leches anything! But I do like my wine here and there. I just found a "Paleo Approved" wine LOL! I know sounds sooo ridiculous and I am falling for it lol! But honestly it has much less alcohol content than most wines. So I ordered some. We will see.

The thing about our sleeve bellies is that there is only so much room. So we have to choose. I get it though, I hate when we don't get our nutrients. But once in a while we need to live too!
