    Default Excited/Anxious

    Good afternoon,

I am really excited about my surgery, but also very anxious. I have been doing my research and of course anything negative regarding the Dr. comes up, but rarely do you find anything positive. So that is why I have joined this group, I need some reassurance that everything is going to be alright. I would like to hear from people that have already had their surgery and anything they might have experienced. If you have experienced negative things, but things that are apart of the risk, I would like to hear about that. Thank you for all your support.

Although I was not sleeved by the surgeon you plan to use, he has many patients who are pleased with their results.

I cannot provide reassurance that everything will be alright because I don't have a crystal ball for fortune-telling, but I can reassure you that the odds are probably stacked in your favor for a good outcome.

    Good luck to you.

How disappointed you don't have a crystal ball, but thanks for your response!

I had mine done in June 2012 with him at his old facility - accomplished what I wanted to. There are good and bad docs all over the country and in Mexico. The times I've seen of any complications with him were due to the patient's issues with instructions or general health issues to start with before they had the surgery.
I've got no complaints at all - managed to keep all of my weight loss off over 5 + years. I had started eating crap and gained a bit but when I got back on track I was 122 in April and as of this morning back to 107

I had mine done locally. I did have issues but mainly related to my reaction to anesthesia. My colon "paralyzes" under anesthesia so after the first week I was readmitted in the hospital due to dehydration because I could not get anything into me without retching. You just have to listen to your body and not be afraid of "bothering" the surgeon to make sure you are good to go. Initially after surgery I was telling everyone that I felt constipated right after surgery. Everyone was telling me that it was in my head. I fully believe that I was feeling the affects immediately.

Other than that bump in the road, I would not change a single thing about the whole process.

He's sleeved a lot of people on here. As with any surgery there are risks but the sleeve has very low complication rates. You just have to decide if the risks are worth it to you. I felt they were for me and I'm very glad I did it. My one regret was not doing it sooner.
