Just curious what the leak test entails? My doctor never mentioned it but Ive seen it mentioned on this board. I understand the purpose of it, but how is the test performed?
My Dr. said it was unnecessary unless there was a reason to believe there was a leak. I did not have to have this test post op. Every doctor is different.
I didn't have one either.

Mine was just like Luna354 said with a second test that required drinking a small amount of purple liquid that they watch for in my drain. I guess if there was a leak it would have had purple fluid in the drain. Some doctors do it and others don't. Primarily I think if you are going out of the country for surgery since you don't have a follow up they do it.
My surgery was done in Missouri. I didn't have one done.
