Goal weight

Am awaiting appt with surgeon on 29th of July. Just curious to know how you determine your goal weight. Does anyone have a secret formula????

I picked as my goal 150 pounds (I'm 5'5") because it was 10 pounds lighter than I'd weighed in nearly 40 years. And it was only 1 pound above a normal BMI.

I hit 150 pounds, and then I lost another 15 pounds.

I still weigh 135 pounds nearly 3 years post-op.

It does not suck.

This makes me very happy.

I'm also 5'5" and almost 3 months post op. My lowest weight as an adult was 148 and I looked good. My goal now is 180, but ideally... I'd love to be 150 again.

(currently I'm 42lbs down and at 212)

I think you're going to be pleasantly surprised.

I just went with a few pounds over "normal" BMI or the higher end of the normal spectrum. For my height (4'11") I can weigh 92-123. I am still losing but am perfectly content at the weight I am.
