Are there any techniques that you can do to prevent sagging skin I read that if you Drybrush your skin that helps with elasticity. I know you can take the multivitamin starting the 14th day out from surgery but what about the biotin are the lysine I mean I'm going to ask my doctor but I wanted to know if anybody out there just knows the answer off the top of their head thank you

The amount of excess skin you'll have depends on your age, genetics, smoking status, and starting weight on the day of surgery.

Generally, the older you are, the less likely your skin will ever 'snap back.' The heavier you were on the day of surgery, the less likely your skin will ever 'snap back.'

I've heard positive things about creams that contain collagen and vitamin E, but realize that excess skin cannot be prevented in all situations. Good luck to you.

I echo what RehabNurse has advised!

I was super proactive about using moisturizers and vitamin oils, collagen and vitamin oils.

I'm certainly ecstatic with my results so far and actually skin on face and neck look wonderful and even my tummy pouch has somewhat shrunk and even pregnancy stretchmarks do not look as horrible as I thought. I'm not so happy with my inner thighs they look like disinflated old balloons, and a few months back I also did a lazer treatment that did nothing! I'm making peace with deflated and wrinkly inner thighs.

I guess perfection is not in my cards lol!!!

If you find a miracle cure for avoiding "excess skin" by which you mean stretchy, sagging skin that doesn't contract post-op after stretching for years over 100+ pounds of fat, please let us know.

In my experience, Rehab Nurse's take on this is accurate. People who truly agonize over their saggy skin post op and who have the bucks get plastic surgery to remove some skin. The results can be dramatic. But recovery post-plastics isn't anything to pooh-pooh. It's reportedly tougher than recovering from WLS.

    Disclaimer: I haven't had plastics post-op.

Hydration is the key. Both internally and externally. Plus weight training. But truthfully, age, genetics, and amount of weight loss are going to play the biggest part.

I may feel differently after my weight loss, but at this point, I figure is loose skin any worse than how aweful I feel from carrying this weight around and hiding fat rolls under clothes? Of course I hope I dont have alot of it, but feel like Im ok with it at this point.
