    Default Protein drinks

Hello I'm on day three and drinking 2 to 3 protein shakes a day I have a feeling this is going to get old quick. I am drinking the Premier protein from Walmart what are you guys drinking and is there an unflavored powder I could mix into my yogurt. Would that then be considered my protein allowance for the day. Substitute the powder for the drinks

I ice the Premier Protein to make it more palatable.

I also use Nectar unflavored protein powder in yogurt and soup.

Are you on the pre op? I personally get a little nauseated from the Premier shakes. I like the EAS Advant Edge. I can tell you that post op I did not drink as many shakes as I thought I would.

Truthfully you can drink at any temperature. Although...a lot of people do better with warm or room temperature liquids....but not everyone has issues with cold drinks. That being said.....you will see that every surgeon and nut has their own idea of what is best. Every pre and post op diet is completely different.

I was on bone broths and Premier shakes the first week, then I started eating different types of blended foods like Dahl (Indian lentils), black beans, i ate lots of Cottage cheese and yogurts the second week as well as homemade protein shakes since I started to get sick of the Premier.

I experimented with foods, but stayed on shakes a lot longer out of convenience. I still drink a protein shake at night if I am low on protein once in a while. I just discovered a new one at my gym that I love.

The lack of energy is most likely due to the anesthesia. It will work it's way out, but it takes a while. At six weeks post op it was like someone had flipped a switch with me. Suddenly I had all my old energy back. It may take that long but its normal.

I like the EAS Advantage high protein shakes. I use the chocolate flavor EAS powder then spice it up with a tbsp of p2b powder or a half of a banana. Many ways to experiment. Good luck!

I've tried various brands and prefer Premier. I switch out the flavored shakes, banana being my fave, but keep vanilla on hand as a staple. I add powdered peanut butter or jello to the vanilla to expand my flavor options. I'm 6 months post op and not tired of it yet.

I do caution, however, with that much protein take your miralax diligently!

I drink the Monster Muscle protein shakes. They are so damn delicious. I'm addicted to them, so I drink them everyday even though I don't need them anymore at more than 2 1/2 years out. They have 25 grams of protein but they also have caffeine, so I'm not sure that you'd be allowed to have that. They are so good though. I live for the chocolate one, and I don't like chocolate usually. It's hard to find them, so if I get in a bind I will drink the Starbucks caramel protein. It has 20 grams. It also is a coffee drink, so has caffeine as well.
