Question - do you do your follow up appointments there, in Mexico? How does that work? Do they give you diet guidelines, etc?
Just curious.
That is what I thought would be a downside no follow ups. However, I was given a nutritious as well with a full meal plan. My coworkers that had it here in the states are just routine follow ups. Just checking the weight, and visiting the nutritionist. Noting that we cant do on our own.
No I haven't heard of that doctor or hospital. Sorry.
Before I came home from Mexico I had all my testing required and giving the nutritional support needed for the first 6 weeks. I was set up with all my meds too. Then my primary doctor at home removed my stitches. My endocrinologist monitoring my blood test. I followed up with a nutritionist at home at 6 weeks just to be sure I understood my diet. I attend a support group monthly at my local hospital that preforms Bariatric surgeries. Hope that helps. I haven't had any problems with my sleeve. Good luck
I went to Mexico..had surgery with Dr. Hernandez..I also used Weight Loss Agents.... It was the ONLY way I would have been able to have the surgery...
I certainly wasn't going to spend 25K...( the absurd price I was quoted out-of-pocket...)... I have no regrets.. everything went fine... I am fine...I have had no issues whatsoever....they have their system down to a T... my total cost was $3750(includes $250 deposit), and my airfare to San Diego..(about $500).. Plus passport card, $35...totally worth it.. I highly recommend this option... even if u had the money to spend on it here, y would u??....good luck and best wishes!!!!!!!!!!
I did a lot of research and decided on Dr. Lopez Corvala. I'd suggest contacting the Dr. (whichever you choose) direct through their website to save money. I took a lot into account when making my decision, experience, online reviews, facility, and cost. Dr. Corvala is a bit more expensive than some out there, but has an impeccable record, and works and a very highly rated hospital, Hospital Angeles (which I wanted just in case something went wrong). Though he is about in the middle of what other doctors are charging in Mexico, he was still VERY affordable compared to the cost in the United States.
I go in for surgery in about 30 days. I will be traveling alone, so fingers crossed it goes ok. GOOD LUCK!!
